Steven M. Hemmerlein

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Hemmerlein comes to North America Central School Bus with more than 20 years of experience in the student transportation industry. He previously served as Senior Vice President at First Student, where he was responsible for the Midwest and South regions. He also held various roles at Laidlaw from contract manager to Senior Vice President, responsible for company operations in the Midwest and West regions. Mr. Hemmerlein is a lifelong Chicagoan and graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).

Pat Earley

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Earley is the Chief Financial Officer of North America Central School Bus. Mr. Earley joined North America Central in 2011. Previous senior management experience includes both financial and operational responsibilities in manufacturing, logistics and technology firms. Mr. Earley has an executive MBA from Northwestern University, a Certified Public Accountant and six years Big 4 experience.

Jim Love

Director of Safety

Mr. Love joined North America Central School Bus as the Director of Safety in 2013. Mr. Love was most recently the National Director of Safety and Risk Management for American Medical Response (AMR), a leading medical transportation company. He comes to us with over thirty years of experience in safety and passenger management experience.

Jason Hill

Director of Maintenance and Fleet

Mr. Hill joined North America Central School Bus as the Director of Fleet and Maintenance in August of 2014. Mr. Hill has extensive experience in logistics and fleet maintenance in both mid-size and Fortune 500 companies. His experience includes sixteen years with United Parcel Services. Mr. Hill has a Bachelor’s degree from Roosevelt University.

Dan O’Brien

Director of Business Development

Mr. O’Brien joined North America Central School Bus from First Student in 2008. He had been with First Student in roles of increasing responsibility and served as the contract manager servicing eight school districts. Mr. O’Brien has a Bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University and is currently pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Finance at the University of St. Francis.

Keith Lane

Vice President of Human Resources

Mr. Lane joined North America Central in 2016. He has over thirty years of human resources and labor relations experience, including the school bus business. Mr. Lane is SPHR certified and holds a Master’s degree from Indiana University, Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, and Associate’s degree from Indiana University. He will receive his law degree in 2018 from Indiana University.

Tom Lammers

Director of Information Technologies

Mr. Lammers joined North America Central School Bus as our new Director of Information Technology. Tom comes to us with an extensive background spanning over thirty years in enterprise-class technology systems, applications, and governance. Previous roles include Programmer/Analyst and Software Engineer with progression to Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Most of his work experience was in industrial manufacturing and distribution verticals. Tom also gained valuable school bus experience while working for Laidlaw Education Services as their Senior Director of Applications Development and Support. His most recent role was Corporate Director of IT for a national manufacturer of consumer goods.
